Recently I was fortunate to pick up a title from the Observer Book series that I have been searching for. It seems ages that I have been looking for this particular one.
As these wonderful little pocket-sized books ceased being published more than 40 years ago you can imagine how tricky it is to find them, either in second-hand book shops or charity shops.

The Observer Book series, published by Warne, were discontinued around 1980 and there was nothing else on the market to replace them.
They covered almost every subject that you could think of, the very first title being Birds up to the swansong of the series with a book on Opera.
